Against the plain: pt. 6

It’s Saturday evening, and instead of going out, or spending time with my S-O, I’m sitting here in bed, catching up on an endless list of school work I have to do for this week.
BORRING. I know right?
So I thought I’d take a little break from school work to post a very casual and simple OOTD, something I’d wear to school, or if I wanted to be comfy.
I hold this Calvin Klein tshirt dearly to my heart since it’s the coolest item I’ve ever found at a thrift store. CK items are quite pricey, and I found this bad boy at value village a year ago for 3$ (instead of 55$ online). It was a bargain  I couldn’t pass up.
I don’t usually opt for converse, but I thought they complemented the casual look and I liked how a low, slim sneaker looked with my jeans cuffed up.

That’s it for me, I wish good luck to all my fellow people struggling through the last months of school before summer. We’re almost there!!

Weekend in Toronto pt. 1

Here’s a look at what I wore today or “if I were a boy” as BeyBey would say. This look is easy and comfortable because of the layers and loose fit. The sneakers made for an enjoyable walk on queen st west. On the plus side, the entire outfit is perfectly unisex so you and your bae can match.

My boyfriend and I went to Toronto for the weekend and had a great stay. It was our first time using airbnb (we stayed on top of a store on queen st west) and I have no horror stories to tell so.. score!

We mainly toured around the city; visited Kensington market, Dundas square, the eaton center, the art gallery of Ontario, and of course explored the neighbourhood where we stayed and found this amazing graffiti alley, had to snap an ootd!

On top of exploring, we ate some amazing food which was recommended to me by a friend, and now I’d like to pass on the yummy eats and suggest to you if ever you’re in the 6ix to try out Neuf Café (a Parisian style café that serves unreal breakfast), momofuku noodle bar, harlem (can never go wrong with chicken and waffles) and north of Brooklyn pizzeria.

I had a lovely and chilled out Valentine’s weekend with my sweetie and I hope you did too whether it was with your S/O or just your best gal pal.

It’s cold outside

Although our winter was quite delayed, the Canadian weather has hit us full force in January. It’s not easy to portray your style and look nice while still keeping warm. I, for one, choose comfort and warmth over fashion during the cold winter months. However I got the chance to style and “model” a look for a fantastic local boutique and I love how it turned out. On top of that…I was quite toasty! I would probably throw on a chunky knit scarf and layers under the jacket for added warmth if I was wearing this for a longer period of time though. All black is a go-to for anyone, furthermore mixing textures adds fun and interest.

Shout outs to my dear friend Sonya who shot this look.
