Teaspoons x SchadBoutique pt. 1

Happy Sunday to all!
This week, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Schad Boutique and had two outfits picked out for me to try on. This is the first; a beautiful baby doll dress from American Vintage and some clunky retro shoes from one of my favourite brands, miistas!
I threw on my funky shades and a watch to accessorize.

Hope you have a great week.

All about the cape

What better way to procrastinate writing your 10 page paper on seal harvesting than to write a blog post about an OOTD?!
As the title says, this look is all about the cape! It was given to me by one of my closest friends who wasn’t getting use out of it and it’s a gem.
I thought I’d pair it with a skirt so that it would just peak out of the cape with my turtle neck showing on top as well.
This look is a little out of the ordinary for me, which is what I love.

Happy Tuesday,
Exam season has finally arrived upon us, and the snow has yet to dissipate, so this is my comfortable monochromatic outfit of the day for these hard times. *dramatic*
The top and bottom total 40$ combined, which I’m quite proud of. It always pays off to check sale sections!

I wish you all luck on exams, and a good day.

Birthday OOTN

Happy Friday friends!

Here’s what I wore on my 22nd birthday a couple of weeks ago to go out and dance with friends.
I have never felt more “me” in a dress. And it’s not even black!!
I felt beautiful and classy in this burnt orange piece.
I paired this fun and flowy dress with my trusty 4 year old Jeffrey Campbell litas to give me height. They’re surprisingly the comfiest heels I own despite the how tall  they are.

It’s Saturday evening, and instead of going out, or spending time with my S-O, I’m sitting here in bed, catching up on an endless list of school work I have to do for this week.
BORRING. I know right?
So I thought I’d take a little break from school work to post a very casual and simple OOTD, something I’d wear to school, or if I wanted to be comfy.
I hold this Calvin Klein tshirt dearly to my heart since it’s the coolest item I’ve ever found at a thrift store. CK items are quite pricey, and I found this bad boy at value village a year ago for 3$ (instead of 55$ online). It was a bargain  I couldn’t pass up.
I don’t usually opt for converse, but I thought they complemented the casual look and I liked how a low, slim sneaker looked with my jeans cuffed up.

That’s it for me, I wish good luck to all my fellow people struggling through the last months of school before summer. We’re almost there!!

A shoot with YOWcitystyle

Last Friday I had the pleasure to meet with a lovely blogger who goes by the name of “YOWcitystyle”. The idea behind the blog/Instagram is to show off the street style of Ottawa while promoting local areas.

I decided to shout out the tea party cafe in the market because the atmosphere is cozy and calm and they have a great variety of tea and vegetarian snacks. I do my best work for school when I’m there.

For my outfit I wanted to do something a little out of my comfort zone with the long lines and baggy layers.

Jeepers Creepers! It’s #throwbackthursday today, so I thought it would be fun to put together a very 90s look. From the creepers, to the choker, to the daisy flowers, this outfit screams 90s and I’m into it. Being a 90s baby, I find myself often reminiscing and feeling nostalgic about almost everything in my childhood, from the polly pockets,  the spice girls, the twisty rhinestones to bedazzle your hair, to the ever so popular furbies. You name it, I was probably into it.
I added tight skinny jeans and a white blouse to give the look a  bit of modernity.

Let me know what your favourite throwback memory is.

A walk on Queen St W.

So far this week has been crazy, I studied for a ridiculous amount of time and I’ve completed three midterms. I’m glad they’re done with although I can’t help but to wish I was still on vacation in Toronto. Instead all I have left of my trip are my great memories and a couple of pictures to look back on. This look was fun to shoot with my S\O on our last day in TO (thanks again bae). I’m particularly fond of this outfit because of the statement burnt orange jacket. It’s not something I’d usually go for but it was an amazing deal in the sale section at Zara so I thought it would be a great and unique piece to add to my collection. I based the rest of my look around the jacket so kept my pants\shoes\hat plain black and the sweater is also muted and doesn’t take attention away from the jacket.

Hello friends, I hope you’re having a lovely Friday!
Today I’m posting a #flashbackfriday to what I wore last Sunday for Love day! (okay okay I know so much for a flashback…)
I didn’t want to go for a typical full red or pink dress for valentines day so instead I opted for this beautiful silk white dress that gives off a romantic yet classy vibe. I threw the duster coat on since I thought the colours complemented each other perfectly and it worked as an added layer for warmth.
I chose a bold dark red lip instead of my go-to nude for some more drama.
As for jewelry I wanted to keep it very minimal as the focus is on the jacket so I threw on my beautiful silver chain that my boyfriend generously gifted to me for the special day ❤ (thanks bae).
And that’s it!
Wishing you all a happy weekend.

Weekend in Toronto pt. 1

Here’s a look at what I wore today or “if I were a boy” as BeyBey would say. This look is easy and comfortable because of the layers and loose fit. The sneakers made for an enjoyable walk on queen st west. On the plus side, the entire outfit is perfectly unisex so you and your bae can match.

My boyfriend and I went to Toronto for the weekend and had a great stay. It was our first time using airbnb (we stayed on top of a store on queen st west) and I have no horror stories to tell so.. score!

We mainly toured around the city; visited Kensington market, Dundas square, the eaton center, the art gallery of Ontario, and of course explored the neighbourhood where we stayed and found this amazing graffiti alley, had to snap an ootd!

On top of exploring, we ate some amazing food which was recommended to me by a friend, and now I’d like to pass on the yummy eats and suggest to you if ever you’re in the 6ix to try out Neuf Café (a Parisian style café that serves unreal breakfast), momofuku noodle bar, harlem (can never go wrong with chicken and waffles) and north of Brooklyn pizzeria.

I had a lovely and chilled out Valentine’s weekend with my sweetie and I hope you did too whether it was with your S/O or just your best gal pal.
