A day in Wakefield

When my mother asked me if I wanted to go to Wakefield for the day to listen to a live folk band the answer was simple… of course !

I jump at any opportunity to explore and listen to amazing live artists.

So off we went on our little 45 minute journey to Quebec !

Wakefield is a beautiful little town and has so much character. We got to walk and look around some shops before the show as we had some time to spare. I even purchased a beautiful set of earrings (that I’m wearing in the photos) from a Native Art Boutique called Khewa.

The band we saw was The Small Glories, and they blew me away. Their harmonies and banjo + guitar playing skills were more than impressive. Their talent is undeniable and the music was so beautiful it’s hard not to be emotional while listening. They were having so much fun on stage and had cute little stories to tell in between songs it’s impossible not to become an immediate fan ! Needless to say, I recommend you check them out.

After the set we got to grab a couple snaps of my #OOTD (classic me, I know).

The weather permitted me to wear a more Spring-time outfit.

Turtle Necks and Thigh Highs

HAPPYYY ALMOST HALLOWEEN LOVELIES.

My mom is adorable for many reasons …
1. She loves Halloween and October as much as I do and decorates the home (inside and out) accordingly.
2. She’s my personal outfit photographer and doesn’t do a bad job if I say so myself?!

Like most, fall time is my favorite season to dress for. This outfit is cozy and dressy all in one. My new(er) work place drew me towards purchasing my first ever pair of thigh high boots and I have to say I’m in love. They’re extremely comfortable (and this is coming from a girl who wears flat shoes or sneakers 24-7) and they keep you warm during the cooler months.
This turtle neck wool dress was a no brainer for me to purchase as it has all elements I live for: turtle necks, heather grey, sweater dresses, and comfy wool material.

I hope whoever is reading has a lovely rest-of-October and Halloween.
Let me know if you’re dressing up and what your costume will be!

Teaspoons x Royal Palm Vintage

royal

On Monday, July 11th, I had the pleasure of visiting a brand new Vintage boutique in the Hintonburg area called Royal Palm Vintage. I was asked to style and “model” a few pieces for their instagram with my friend.
My first impression of the space is that it’s unique and different than any other vintage store I’ve ever been in. The concrete details with open-exposed ceilings give the space an industrial- modern feel.
It is a beautiful space with funky and fun decor, and it is a place where you don’t feel overwhelmed by product. I find this is a good thing when thrift shopping or vintage hunting because it can be easy to give up and walk away. However, at Royal Palm, everything is separated by style so you have an area of more casual wear, and then some fancier items etc.

The owner, Rebecca, is very friendly, welcoming, and has an eye for picking unique and special items. This makes you want to stay longer and have a chat all while looking for that piece that’s meant to be found just by you.
A piece i was drawn to was this “Toronto” tee. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and style it with another baby pink item. An added bonus is that these pants are Ralph Lauren (queue Rachel from Friends fan girl moment). Overall this is a comfortable and casual outfit that stands out from the ordinary

The second look was styled around this GORGEOUS Betsy Johnson skirt (that I ended up taking home with me). I love how the purse adds a pop of color and makes certain details on the skirt stand out, plus, the jean jacket makes the whole outfit casual and daytime appropriate. However, you could take it off and add a dressy top and you’d be good to go for a classy and elegant evening look.

This concludes part 1 of my collaboration with Royal Palm vintage.
Stay tuned for pt 2!
In the mean time go ahead and check out the boutique and everything it has to offer, if you do, let them know I sent you over!

Big thanks to Rebecca for being so kind and having me and Sonya for being my partner in styling and an awesome photographer.

Against the plain: Pt. 8

Here we are again against my plain backdrop! I’m forced to be a little more boring when no one can shoot my look.
Today I chose to throw on a simple black dress with a jean shirt for an added layer and warmth since it’s not too warm in the country’s capital at the moment.
On my feet I’m wearing my newest favorite purchase; some swedish hasbeens clogs ❤
I was doubtful at first because I didn’t know how much wear I’d get out of such a unique shoe but I’m finding myself being able to wear them with pretty much anything!

Have yourselves a great weekend. xo

Sporty Chic

This is my version of a sporty- chic look.
The nike items mixed with a sleek bomber jacket and tight skirt make this outfit appropriate for day to night, you can simply throw on some strappy heels and you’re good to go!

Happy weekend. ox

Turtle necks & strappy dresses

A lot of people have style icons who they follow and get their inspiration from, I don’t particularly have a style icon. I simply get inspired by everyone and everything that surrounds me. Having been a retail worker for 4 years, I’ve seen and helped a lot of interesting and stylish people. I fell in love with a look i saw last week where a woman wore a white turtle neck with a strappy dress on top and so i decided to recreate the look with pieces i had in my own closet!
The look is very casual and comfortable.

I hope you all have a happy Wednesday.

90s bby

The 90s is by far my favorite style of airmax and so i thought i’d play up the 90s vibe with some thrifted mom jeans and a middle parting in my hair.
I’m glad to finally be on summer break from school but the sun needs to come out to play a little more amirite?
I hope you all had a lovely Wednesday.

Teaspoons x SchadBoutique pt. 2

Part two of my collaboration with Schad Boutique!
A shift dress is one of my favourite items to throw on during a warm day. It’s a guaranteed no fuss outfit.

I added a pop of red with my bag to this otherwise monochrome look.

shoes: melissas (found at schad)
dress: American vintage (found at schad)
glasses: aldo
bag: mat and nat

Special thank you to schad boutique and @sonbetts for the pictures.

Flare forever

I can’t lie to you, I never thought I’d step food into some flair jeans again after I ditched them in 2009. But these stole my heart with their 70s feel. I paired them with none other than my favourite platforms to complete the look.

Happy Monday!
